IPTV for MAG Box: Portal Setup in Minutes

MAG set-top boxes don't use a username and password like phone apps. Instead, your provider registers the box's MAC address and gives you a portal URL. We support MAG boxes: send us your MAC address, add the portal in the box's settings, restart, and your channels load with a full TV guide.

How it works

How Does IPTV for MAG Box Work?

Every MAG box has a unique MAC address, printed on the label underneath and shown in its settings. When you subscribe, you send us that MAC address. We link it to your plan and send you a portal URL. Enter the portal in the box's settings, restart it, and the box signs in automatically. No username or password to type with the remote.

  • Login is tied to the box's MAC address
  • One portal URL, entered once
  • The box remembers everything after a restart
10 steps, 3 parts

Set Up IPTV for MAG Box, Step by Step

No app to install and no password to type: a MAG box signs in with its MAC address and a portal URL. Have the box connected to your TV and router before you start.

Part 1

Find your MAC address and send it to us

3 min
  1. 1

Check the label under the box

Turn the box over. The sticker lists the MAC address: twelve characters in pairs, starting with 00:1A:79 on MAG boxes.

  2. 2

    Or read it on screen

The MAC address also appears on screen while the box starts up, and in the settings under Device info (called About on some models).

  3. 3

    Send it with your order

Choose your plan, then send the MAC address through our contact form, which opens with a MAG request ready to finish. We register the box and email your portal URL, usually within minutes.

Part 2

Add the portal

4 min
  1. 4

    Open System settings

Press SET (or SETUP) on the remote, or select Settings on the home screen, then open System settings.

  2. 5

    Go to Servers, then Portals

Inside System settings, choose Servers, then Portals.

  3. 6

Name the portal and enter its URL

In Portal 1 name, type any label, such as Living Room. In Portal 1 URL, type the address from our email exactly, including http:// at the start and any ending such as /c/.

Use the remote's number keys for digits and the keyboard key to switch between letters and symbols. One wrong character stops the portal loading.

  4. 7

    Save

Press OK to save the portal, then EXIT to step back to the main settings screen.

Part 3

Set the clock and restart

3 min
  1. 8

    Add a time server

In Servers → General, enter pool.ntp.org in the NTP server field. The box then keeps exact time, which keeps the TV guide accurate.

  2. 9

    Restart the portal

On the main settings screen, choose Restart portal (or Reboot device). Unplugging the box for ten seconds works too.

  3. 10

    Watch

The portal loads by itself with live channels, the guide and on-demand sections. From now on, the box opens straight into it every time you switch it on.

Tips for MAG Box Viewers

MAG boxes are built for living-room TV: simple remotes, fast channel switching and a cable-style guide. A few habits keep them running smoothly.

IPTV for MAG box checklist

  • Use the Ethernet port rather than Wi-Fi
  • Keep the box's software up to date
  • Restart weekly if menus feel slow
  • Tell us before you replace the box, because a new box has a new MAC address

MAG Box or Android TV Box?

MAG boxes suit viewers who want a simple, cable-like experience. Android TV boxes run apps such as IPTV Smarters Pro and also handle streaming apps. Formuler boxes sit in between, with a built-in live TV player plus Android apps (see our Formuler guide). All of them work with our service, so you can mix them around the house.
